Yes, I know Halloween is over. I shall not apologize for being approximately one holiday behind, especially since I still haven't blogged Aurora's September birthday pictures.
Anyway, these are just a few little halloween loose ends. First the yummy cookies I made for Theo's class. I tried to reduce my work by only using two icing colors, but, yes, they still took more time than 3-year-olds could possibly care about. My problem is I freaking love sugar cookies. Yum! So I'll make for any ol' reason ...
Next, this is a halloween wall quilt my mom made for me. Gorgeous, right? It's from a kit from Keepsake Quilting a few years ago. I think it's a brilliant use of batiks. I kinda don't want to put it away now.
And finally, a peek at my little costume. I've got no pix of me in it, so you'll have to deal. I made the top with my new serger. :) If you're wondering, the words are Aurora's "word wall words", so that makes me... yes, a spelling bee. It's pretty lame that I feel the need to explain that, but no one really got it, which is mostly a reflection of the limited creativity I put into it. But it was quick, cute, and totally appropriate for an elementary school party.
I have intentions to be back before Thanksgiving, but just in case...
I am thankful for all my awesome readers!

I got it, a Spelling Bee! I love it! I think I would leave that Halloween quilt out all year if it were me, I love those batiks in it.

Love the spelling bee! I don't know what you're talking about "not creative", that is way more creative then most people will ever bee. I don't mind that you blog a season or two behind, because I love seeing how all the wonderful things you're up to! Keep on being Awesome!

Hey Jessica! That Halloween wall quilt is GORGEOUS. I love it. I am not really into batiks (gasp!) but I am in awe of this quilt!

wow! that quilt is amazing! its pretty inspiring too, i REALLY looking forward to starting my next quilting project but just had no idea where to go with it. i think too much about patchwork rather than quilting in general...
also, your cookies are so cool! i know what you mean about the amount of effort put into things though, i have this bizarre tendency to make loads of effort with gifts for people i don't care about and then never get round to making gifts for the people i do care about..
i really love your blog and look forward to every new post to see what new fantastical things you've been up to :)
btw im the crazy girl who emailed you about how much she adored Aurora/Theo's monster suit :D
take care

Kidlet, you never cease to amaze me! I love the quilt your mom made also. I see where your creative gene came from. Give her a hug for me and let her know I miss her daughter terribly!
Love you..

The only things that could make that costume any better would be go-go boots and a bee-hive hairdo. Very, very cute idea!

Um, Spelling Bee? That is the best.costume.ever!!!! I love it. And I don't care that you are one holiday behind! It's always fun to read about what you are doing. I haven't blogged in three weeks. Maybe I should spend less time reading other blogs and get busy on mine. Or not!
