I know I've been absent. I have no good excuse. Of course I'm busy, who isn't? but it's just regular life, holidays, work stuff...no giant important deadlines looming.
But I haven't been a good blogger. I decided to give myself some slack and hope I get motivated again soon. I do have Aurora's birthday party pix to share with you, so I'll try to get on that soon. Plus, a little holiday fun.
Anyway, these pix are of a sweet little clutch I made for a wedding I went to recently. It's similar to the beautiful clutches that Simone makes.
I'm so tickled with how it came out. It was a last minute project and with no pattern, I think I completed it in about 3 hours. It did involve a conversation like this:
husband: "It's getting late, are you coming to bed?"
me: "um, not yet."
husband: "what are you working on now?"
me: "I really don't want to say"
husband: "are you making something for the wedding tomorrow?"
me: SILENCE
I just can't help myself. Really. It can be a problem. But it was such a fun distraction project and I had so much fun carrying it. I don't think that I've ever owned a clutch before and I felt all glam tucking it under my arm.
I wore it with a black and white dress and red shoes.
We had a great night out....

I have to admit that I'm not a huge purse person -- have been carrying the same one on a daily basis for over 4 years now -- but I absolutely love your little clutch! And just wow on finishing it so fast w/o a pattern!

Your clutch is gorgeous, what a great use of Laura's fabric. And I look forward to seeing the Aurora b'day pics. Did you go all-out again?

You are fantastic to do that without pattern! The clutch looks absolutely fabulous and matches so well with the shoes! You sure are a design talent!

Your post made me laugh, because I completely identify with the 11th hour project making. My husband gives me that same "you're doing that NOW?" reaction. But look at how it turned out -- gorgeous!

Laughing so hard, because I've had that conversation a number of times. Okay. Maybe not about a wedding, but something similar. (Christmas, birthdays, you know.

You sound like me. I'm disappointed we don't get a pix of YOU looking all glam but the clutch is fabulous.
