In keeping with the posting of outdated items...
Here's what I got for birthday (a month ago):
That's right my very own, latest version, Illustrator. Now I just need a new computer to keep up with it. And, of course, to learn how to use it. My poor sister is getting a lot of "how do you do this?" phone calls.
I also got this cutie:
I believe it was purchased at JoAnn's of all places. Love it.

that looks like a great present...I think I need the same thing! My friend the "graphic designer" said that is what I needed to design fabric with....what are you going to do with it?

Happy Late Birthday! Nice gifts! I've seen those cute pincushions at Joann's and have been equally surprised at something so cute there. I'm perplexed that they sell sewing boxes and pincushions covered in Michael Miller fabrics but they don't actually carry the fabric. . .
and I love that the CS3 box is orange!

Happy belated birthday, Jessica! My daughter, who recently graduated from college, earned a $500-book voucher to begin her professional library. Laura ordered a book called "Adobe Illustrator Classroom in a Book." Maybe that book might help you master your new software. Other books Laura ordered, which I didn't even know existed, were wonderful Japanese books filled with page after page of sample prints (like Amy Butler's). I just remember that after my daughter placed her book orders, the UPS man stopped at our house daily for about three weeks! I had fun browsing through all of those books!

Have fun with the illustrating....trying to figure something like that out would make me shiver. But best wishes!
PS Happy birthday

So. Very. Jealous! I can't wait to see what you do with Illustrator. By the way, your package arrived in the mail on Saturday and I have been absolutely filled with inspiration. I love all of the fabric and have been flipping through my craft binder just choosing the perfect project. And everyone loves the belt, which I rarely take off!

Happy Birthday to you! I know absolutely nothing about Adobe Illustrator, so I'm residing even further back in the dark ages...! And what a cute pincushion!
