Theo is one. How can that be? I feel it's so cliche to say how fast the time flies...but really? A whole year already?
Anyway, I didn't put pressure on myself to plan an uber-party (I know...so unlike me...) We just a tiny family gathering to eat corn on the cob and CAKE. Yum.
I have no pix of the birthday boy yet, but as you can see I did manage to make him a little birthday crown. I really love how it came out. It's all 100% wool felt with a couple off vintage buttons. I didn't want to put a "1" on it since it should last him a lot longer than a year. It even fits on my head..though quite snuggly. I'm also quite proud that I didn't buy ANYTHING in the making of this crown.
Now I feel I should make one for Aurora, but, of course, hers will have to be color coordinated and will require the purchase of more felt.

It's AWESOME! You must tell me how you did it - please please. I can't wait to see the pics. Happy birthday Theo!

All Hail, Prince Theo! What an extraordinary crown; I am sure Aurora will be pleased with hers as well. Did you add any kind of interfacing to make it stiff or is that just the characteristic of wool felt?

I love that! And how cool that you used your stash! I'm like Aurora, my favorite colors would have to be included. ;->
I also love the name of your son, my younger brother is Theodore, used to be a Teddy long ago, sometimes he's a Theo but most of the time a Ted. Great name!

Love the crown--I'll have to make some for my girls, although they will have to be pink, because everything has to be pink these days.
My nephew's name is Theo--so cute!

Love the crown you made! I know I'm late but happy birthday to your little man :) Simple parties are my favorite - especially at 1.

The crown is lovely, oh sorry...very manly. And your prince looks as though he enjoyed it very much. If you have any tips on how to making this, my girls would be THRILLED. Their mother is not adept at making things on her own without adult supervision and direction. Am enjoying your blog- thanks.

So glad I found this... both of my boys have Fall bdays 4 days apart and would love this. This year we will have princes. Maybe I'll even do it ahead of time instead of waiting til the last minute.

in my opinion one of the best interpreters and singers, soloists, composers active at the time, his best time is past but much of the still, I hope and do not show their talent and bring it to market something new or unpublished.
