Can you handle the cuteness? Maybe it's just me...but I LOVE it.
A little background....I'm not the super-thrift-store-goddess that many of you are. But some days I aspire to be one too. Lately I've been going to a few more yard sales and antique stores. I find I really just need time to roam around and look through things to find the 1 or 2 items that say "BUY ME", and I rarely have that time.
Anyway, this called to me. It was a children's sewing machine back in the day. Oh I guess I should show you the size since it's not nearly as cute if you think it's full size. Here it is with my machine:
It's metal, not plastic and says "SewMistress"! I don't know if it works yet, but I love it either way.
Which reminds me, my daughter got this for christmas:
Also adorable. She not even 4 so I haven't actually let her use it yet. She's been helping me a little. She's just starting to show a real interest in sewing....so maybe soon.
I did have a few more finds that I'll share soon...I promise.
Oh, and a belated Happy Fourth to you all! I've got some fun in "small town america" from my hometown to post later (it takes me a while...I'm still learning here...)

I can't believe you just started your blog, it looks like you've been doing it for years! Tutorial already? Impressive!
That sewing machine is a great find, I'm super jealous.
And thanks for putting me on your blogroll!
Cheers,
Tracey

I've just spent the last hour reading your blog! I heart it! You do beautiful work and have an amazing eye. I LOVE to sew but am by no means great. I can make a mean blanket though.
I love that little thrift store find.
My older daughter is almost 8 and has had that same Hello Kitty sewing machine for about 2 years. It's actually an amazing little machine ~ perfect for a child interested in sewing.
I will definitely be checking back here for inspiration!
